Where it comes down to prep
Click-lock floors telegraph every dip and hump in the subfloor. We flatten to spec with self-leveler or sanding before a single plank goes down, which is the step most cheap installs skip.
Underlayment, expansion gaps and transition strips get spec attention too. A floating floor that has been pinned by trim will buckle in the first hot week.
